THINLINE FILM FEST: SHORT FILMS

This year's Thin Line Festival will feature 43 short films. While it's not possible to see them all during the festival, we have a diverse selection of films to recommend for you. We've got a great diverse selection of recommendations, so there's likely to be something for you in here!


76105: Dr. King Won't Rise

This film explores life in Fort Worth's Stop 6 neighborhood. While many associate Stop 6 with drugs, gangs, and other violent crime, local residents Dante, Quinton, and Franklin banded together to have a positive impact on their community. Their organization encourages men in their community not to fall victim to stereotypes and to be a good example for those around them.

Back to CAMP

Many people can tell stories of life-changing experiences they had attending summer camp as children. One woman facing midlife difficulties decided that exploring her past might help her move forward in her life. No matter who you are or where you are in life, summer camp can change you, even if it never changes itself.

Back to CAMP will be shown as part of a Shorts Program on Thursday, April 19th at 4:30 PM in Movie Tavern Theater 2.

Big Paradise

The Numbers Band might just be the best band you've never heard of. Despite over 40 years of performing and praise from top music critics as well as fellow musicians, the band is not well-known. Big Paradise explores the life and work of Robert Kidney, as well as how they've been affected by the downturn in fortunes of the Midwest where Kidney lives.

Big Paradise will be shown with the feature film Sex and Broadcasting on Friday, April 20th at 9:00 PM in the Campus Theatre.

Texas Paranormalists

Did you know that North Texas has its own group of paranormal investigators? Texas Paranormalists follows a group of local paranormal practitioners, including ghost investigators and spirit world seekers. The film explores their community and passion for dealing with the unknown.

Texas Paranormalists will be shown as part of a shorts program on Thursday, April 19th at 4:00 PM in Movie Tavern Theater 1.

Zamora: The Sole of a Boxer

No, that isn't a typo. Zamora: The Sole of a Boxer explores the life of a Mexican cobbler in Los Angeles who was once a professional boxer. The film features stories and re-enactments of Zamora's previous life, along with a discussion of how his past affects his present reality. If you're a fan of ESPN's 30 for 30 series, this is the short film for you!

Zamora: The Sole of a Boxer will be shown as part of a shorts program on Friday, April 21st at 4:00 PM in Movie Tavern Theater 1.
