Halloween was sure a heckuva lot of fun, and we are still rationing out the candy. But Denton stops for no one, and to prove it, here are the top #DEN10 evnts that you shouldn’t be missing over the next week. DO NOT FORGET to VOTE Friday or November 7 on our local and state propositions, because democracy doesn’t work without you! FRIDAY, November 3rd

Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets | GDAC | 6:00 - 10:00 PM
Return to Hogwarts with this special screening at the Greater Denton Arts Council, accompanied by popcorn, soda, chocolate creatures and Butterbeer. They’re encouraging costumes and insist you register so they have a headcount. Muggles welcome.

First Friday Denton | Downtown Denton | 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Explore what’s new on the local arts scene every month! There is free beer in the CVB Center, exhibits all around the Square, and plenty to peruse at local galleries! Make sure to check out SCRAP for some art and free drinks/snacks, too!

The Magic Flute | UNT Murchison PAC | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
UNT Opera presents Mozart's The Magic Flute in Lyric Theatre for $15-$35. An "In the Know" lecture starts at 7:15 pm so grab tix and get some culture.

Standing Comedians | Audacity Brew House | 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
We were deeply saddened to hear that Audacity Brew House will be shuttering its doors Nov 11, but meanwhile drink it up while you can! Denton’s booming comedy scene is reppin’ strong so go show some support.

SATURDAY, November 4th

As if the morning Denton Community Market ain’t enough, our beloved Denton Public Library is running their Big Book Sale fundraiser from 10am-4pm at North Branch.

Alternative Gifts Craft Fair | First United Methodist Church | Fri-Sun times
Over 35 vendors sell their one-of-a-kind artisan items and crafts providing an alternative for gift giving and, at the same time, raising money of which 100% benefits the non-profit organizations represented. Fair trade goods, handmade merchandise, and local artisans are featured as folks from around our region come to buy creative and unique items.

First Saturday DANCE | Green Space Arts Collective | 6:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Following the afternoon fundraiser Lisapalooza 4 for Denton High Cares, Hang with your favorite local music luminaries with this FUNdraiser for the LA-based ‘zine Razorcake!

This Duggan Bros duo out of Oxford bring their Americana showcase to town in this free show.

SUNDAY, November 5th

BUG | Point Bank Black Box Theatre | 8:00 PM - 9:300 PM (Saturday showings also available)
Set in a seedy Oklahoma City motel room, the play centers on the meeting between Agnes, a divorced waitress with a fondness for cocaine and isolation, and Peter, a soft-spoken Gulf War drifter who may be the victim of secret military experiments! Sunday night performances will be Industry Nights: bring a program from your most recent theatrical production you were part of for an $8 ticket!
