Last night's city council meeting got ya down? We've got ten events happening in Denton over the next seven days in the post below that may help to cheer you up. Glen's busy eating bagels and such in NY, so this week's Den10 is from Will. Denton, remember that we've only got a few weeks left before all of the students come back so enjoy this precious time while it lasts. We know it is rather difficult to enjoy when it feels like 109 outside, but do what you can. Tag #WDDI on your Denton-related Instagram photos and check back here next Monday to see some of the weekend fun. Have a great week!

THE DEN10: JULY29th
This week’s top 10 list is brought to you by sitting in a cold, dark room with headphones listening to the Interstellar soundtrack while convincing ourselves it’s not a hundred million degrees outside. How / why is it patios are so dang popular in Denton? What are you people thinking? We have the technology, people. Go find some AC and sip on a freezing tasty beverage while waiting out the end of this incredibly boring and eventless Denton summer. Nothing EVER happens around here. Except in the basement of J&J’s this week which is where just about everything is happening.

Summer is almost over and if you’ve not got your plans together to blow it, don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of things you can get into. This week, possibly the most intriguing event is the Goliad kickoff party at Dan’s. It’s a “media production house” according to the site (which really is beautiful and I recommend checking it out). It seems to be reminiscent and connected to the Porch scene so we’re hoping for good things. Remember y’all, life is short, hashtag WDDI.

Is it seriously raining again? At this point we suppose we’re all used to moving outdoor events inside or onto the set of Waterworld so let's hear it for more of the same. Should we just declare this summer a wash? Here’s the thing about this week: there are a ton of shows. Part of summer is being bored to death and probably a little bit broke so what better to do than book some shows and go to some shows. Maybe it’s just a good time to get out of town, snap some ‘grams and hashtag them #WDDI to show off your adventures.

Soak it in while you can, folks. Once July 4th happens, it’s basically time to start buying school supplies, sweaters and Christmas presents. At least we’ve got some seasonable weather and plenty of options for those of you who are stranded in Denton instead of taking that trip to Eugene. Tag ‘em if you got ‘em and stay tuned for the blog for stuff pertaining to arts and culture.

Another summer is underway and we’re just now realizing how hard it is to get out of bed at a decent time when the sun is still up at 9PM and there’s so many people to see and things to do. The hot, humid weather has moved in and hopefully all our major summer travel plans have been made so now it’s time to fill in the gaps with things like Twilight Tunes on Thursday’s on the square and any number of shows and get togethers that are happening. Remember to document your travels and adventures by using hashtag #WDDI.

What is this strange ball of fire in the sky today? It’s so bright. Take advantage of this weird, clear weather and get out there and check out all the great things our city has to offer before we all float away. Looks like Oaktopia is getting underway with a few “Pretopia" events (we always appreciate a good portmanteau) and one of them looks like a bike scavenger hunt. There’s also a bike pub crawl so if you've got a bike your weekend is already made.
